The region is perfect for cycling thanks to its relatively flat terrain and excellent facilities: travel light and at your own pace!
Visit the town of Savonnières
A charming little village crossed by the Cher river and labelled a ‘green resort’, offering beautiful walks and bike rides. On the river side, make the most of sunny days and recharge your batteries with a canoe trip starting from the campsite, not forgetting to take a picnic with you to enjoy a relaxing moment on the banks of the Cher. Local shops are a 10-minute walk from the campsite (grocery store, bakery, local market, pharmacy, etc.). Fishing is available for nature lovers.
The Loire by Bike
Want to marvel at the beautiful landscapes crossed by France’s longest river while staying close to nature? Your cycling adventure begins here… Have you decided to embark on the Loire à Vélo cycle route? Directly accessible from the Loire à Vélo, cycle tourists are welcome at the campsite. Travel light: the campsite is equipped to welcome our two-wheeled friends!
Villandry Castle & Gardens
Marvel at the magnificent Château de Villandry and its French gardens, just 3 km from the campsite. Between the Renaissance and the 20th century, the gardens evolved along with the château. Whatever the season, there is something to delight you… Remember to buy your tickets at a preferential rate from the campsite reception!
Savonnières Petrified Caves
Halfway there, the Petrifying Caves of Savonnières will add an unusual touch to your visits: something to keep you busy on rainy or scorching hot days! These former tuffeau stone quarries now offer a journey through light and shadow, where nature reigns supreme. Preferential rates on admission tickets, available at the campsite reception.
Langeais Castle
On another historical note, discover the Château de Langeais: a Renaissance gem with medieval influences, located 13 kilometres from the campsite. In the heart of the Loire Valley, this former royal estate invites you to visit its many rooms filled with medieval furniture and explore its recreational grounds. In summer, enjoy birds of prey shows and numerous activities. Something to delight young and old alike!
Azay-le-Rideau Castle
Don’t miss the magnificent village of Azay-le-Rideau, renowned in particular for its incredible Renaissance castle, listed as a National Monument and marked by the reign of François I. This castle, which seems to float on an island carved out by the River Indre, will fascinate you with its beautiful gardens, whose reflecting pool adds to its charm. In summer, animated night-time tours with sound and light shows offer an original way to visit the site.
